How to Connect Your iCal Account

This guide will detail how to connect your iCal account to Jervis Systems in a few simple steps.

  1. From your Jervis Systems account, navigate to the Marketplace page and select the option to connect to iCal.

  1. In the next screen, fill out the form to include the name of your listing, the check-in and check-out time, country, timezone and iCal URL. Then select the Connect button.

Note: You can find the iCal URL by going to the Apple Calendar app on your iPhone and select Calendars in the bottom toolbar. Tap on the information (‘i’) icon next to the calendar you want to import. Near the bottom, enable the Public calendar option and select Share link. From a web browser, sign in to icloud.com, go to the calendar, click the sharing icon, check the Public Calendar box, and click Copy link.

  1. Once you are connected, go to the Listings page within your Jervis Systems account and click Refresh Listings. When the page has been reloaded, you will see all your listings imported from iCal. Select the Operations menu for the newly imported listing to edit it.

Scroll to the iCal URL and select the gear icon to access the settings.

  1. From the settings view, use the drop-downs to map the fields to your preferences.
  1. Go to the Devices page and connect to your smart locks and devices by selecting the Import Devices button. From there, select your smart lock or device provider and follow the prompts to connect your account.
  1. Once your devices are imported successfully, you will want to assign your devices to your imported listings. You can do this by selecting the drop-down list for the device you want to assign and checking the boxes for the listings to which you want it assigned. Once assigned, the status indicator will turn green for all listings with assigned devices on the Listings page.
  1. Next, navigate to the Reservations page and select the Refresh button. In the SET PIN field you will see the last four digits of the guest phone number. Note: With the iCal integration, we are not able to store the code back to a property management system. You will need to use the last four digits of the guest’s phone number variable in your property management system.
  1. Your next steps will be to set up your guest messaging to deliver the code and access instructions to the guest. Since Jervis does not store the code back with a PMS with iCal, you cannot schedule messages to be sent automatically unless you use the phone number variable in your templates. Do not use door code or PIN code variables.

Success! Your Jervis Systems and iCal accounts are connected, your SET PIN is created, and you have set up messaging for your guests.
