Wi-Fi connectivity and signal strength are key for using smart locks with Jervis Systems. You can test your Wi-Fi strength on available local networks using our Wi-Fi Analyzer tool.
What to Know in Testing From Different Devices
Our Wi-Fi Analyzer is not available for iOS or our web app, as the permissions needed for scanning are not made available. You can only access this feature from an Android device using our Access My Property mobile app.
- One workaround we recommend to property managers is to have a Samsung or Android phone on hand at your listing to troubleshoot and assess your Wi-Fi strength.
- The other option that allows you to review Wi-Fi signal strength on both iOS and Android is using the WifiMan Wizard with UniFi. This device is a portable spectrum analyzer that comes with a dedicated iOS/Android app. We recommend this option for a more detailed analysis. You can check out a review and breakdown of the UniFi app here.
How to Use the Jervis Wi-Fi Analyzer
Download the Access My Property app from the Google Play store.
When you open the app and sign in, you’ll be able to find the Wi-Fi Analyzer tool from the main menu, under Device Access.

Select the option at the top of the page view to refresh and scan. The analyzer will scan available networks and share the dBm values based on the position from the router. Lower dBms are associated with a good signal, while higher values note a weaker signal.

In general, values lower than -55 are very strong (green), values between -56 and -65 are medium (yellow), and values higher than -65 (red) are critically weak.
If you see weaker signals, we recommend looking into extenders to improve your signal strength. We detail more in our guide here along with recommended models.
If you’re looking to set up guest Wi-Fi as a next step, we recommend these guides for DNS-based and hardware based setup.
