How to Connect Your SALTO Smart Locks
Below, we detail the process of importing your SALTO devices to Jervis Systems.
Note: With Jervis Systems, we can support creating random codes with the SALTO Lite subscription and support remote unlocking for your devices. If you are looking to create custom codes, you will need to purchase the SALTO Pro subscription. Our team is looking into becoming a provider for SALTO hosting accounts.
Import Your SALTO Devices
- Navigate to the Smart Devices section of the Marketplace.
- Scroll down and select the option to connect to SALTO.
- Input your credentials and follow the prompts to connect.
Set Up Tags for Devices
If you are planning to assign RFID tags to locks, you need to set up the RFID cards or tokens so that Jervis can activate them to operate the locks. If this is not applicable, you can proceed with the section below to assign your SALTO devices.
- Log in to Salto KS
- Go to Site > Tags
- Select + Add Tags
- Choose any lock or device in SALTO KS. (The device temporarily switches into enrollment mode.)
- Tap each of the 200 credentials (RFID tokens) on the lock, one after another. (No typing or user assignment is needed at this stage.)
- Once this is completed, you can assign your devices.
Assign Your Devices & Create PINs
- Once your SALTO account is connected, you can select the Refresh button on your Devices page to show your imported devices. Then, select the drop-down list under the Assigned Listings column to assign the device(s) to a listing. Be sure devices are assigned to the correct listing. After assigning your device, the status will show as enabled.
- Going forward, if you are looking to import newly added SALTO devices, do not re-import the vendor. Use the Refresh Devices option at the top of the Devices page.
NOTE: By default, the system processes reservations in a rolling two-week window. This can be updated for Salto users down to 2 days.
If you would like your account processing window updated, please create a Support Request via your Jervis Systems dashboard (Support < Support Request).
- Now, it’s time to import reservations. Head over to the reservations page and select the “Refresh” button. Once your reservations are imported, you should see your PIN code under the SET PIN field.
Now, your SALTO devices are mapped to their respective listings, and access is set up for your guests. Guests can either type the PIN code in or use our web app (AccessMyProperty.com) and mobile app to click to unlock. You can see more details on sharing access in our guide here.
Note: For custom codes (i.e., the last 4 or 6 digits of a guest’s phone number), you cannot track usage for going in and out of doors as with using a random code. It is recommended to keep random codes for full audit tracking inside SALTO, and Jervis provides logging as well.
