With the Jervis Systems-Google Nest integration, you can connect your Nest smart thermostat and set temperature controls to go into effect before, during, and after your guest’s stay.
Please make sure you read our guide and ensure you import carefully. Google’s APIs are a bit more complicated than other vendors. It is very easy to lose authorization if not imported correctly.
- From your Jervis Systems account, navigate to the Devices page and select Google Nest from the Import Devices drop-down list.

- You will be brought to the Google login screen and prompted to input your login details to connect. Select the personal Google account that is associated with your Nest thermostats. You cannot connect a business account for Nest. This is a firm limitation with the API that does not allow us to import devices through a business account.

- If you have more than one account or device, we recommend two different approaches depending on how your account is configured. This is to avoid importing multiple devices with an Empty name status, which creates confusion when trying to assign devices to the correct listing. (Our team is working to push an update here.)

- Option 1: In the event that your account has thermostats set up for separate listings or units, we recommend enabling permissions one listing/unit at a time. Then after renaming and assigning in Step 5, you can go through the import process again, this time toggling off the permissions for the listing you previously imported and toggling on the permissions for the new listing(s).

- Once a device is imported, you will need to change the Empty name to the correct name to reflect the naming convention in your Google Nest account. Then assign it to its respective listing. If the device continues to show up as yellow (non-enabled), you can try to unassign and reassign for the status to update.

- Option 2: In the event that the account has multiple devices for a listing, we recommend enabling one device at at a time for that listing, renaming and assigning as shown in Step 5, and then returning to import each remaining device associate with the listing.

- Option 3: If your account has separate listings and multiple devices, you can follow the same process as above. Toggle on one device at a time, per each listing. Then as you move on to the next device or listing, toggle off any previously imported devices and permissions for listings.

- Going forward, if you are looking to import newly added Google Nest devices, do not re-import the vendor. Use the Refresh Devices option at the top of the Devices page.
- Once your Nest thermostats are imported, it’s time to configure the thermostat settings. Once set, these settings will go into effect before, during, and between reservations. To configure your settings, select the three dots to the right of each device listing from your Jervis Devices page to view and edit the thermostat details for Guest Mode, Vacant Mode, and Guardrails. You can check out our guide here for more details on setup.

- You can also configure Default Settings in your Jervis account to go into effect for newly imported thermostats in the future following our guide here.
