The Ultimate Guide to Jervis® Hot Tub & Pool Heater Settings

In Jervis Systems, you can import your hot tub and pool heaters to automate temperature settings for every guest stay.

Here, we outline the step-by-step process, including how notifications are sent based on your property management system.

Before you will can configure settings, you want to make sure your property management platform is connected and your listing settings are properly configured. If you have already done this, you can skip to Step 3.

  1. Connect your property management system (PMS) or channel manager of choice by navigating to the Marketplace page. Each platform will have its unique requirements to connect. To view the instructions for your specific PMS, check out the user guides on our FAQ page.
  1. Once connected, go to the Listings page within your Jervis Systems account and click Refresh Listings. When the page has been reloaded, you will see all of your imported listings.
  1. Navigate to the Devices page and select the Import Devices button. From there, select your pool or hot tub heater from the drop-down list.

How to Configure Heater Settings in Jervis

Now, it’s time to configure the pool and hot tub heater settings for your guests. Once set, these settings will go into effect before, during, and between reservations.

To configure your settings, go to the Devices page and select the three dots to the right of each of your device listings to view and edit the heater details for Guest Mode and Vacant Mode.

From there, you will be brought to the Guest Mode settings.

Guest Mode

Guest Mode allows you to enable settings that go into effect before and during your guests stay.

The first setting can be selected if you would prefer to manually update this for specific reservations.

Once you have selected this option, you will need to go to the Reservations page, select the option to edit your reservation of choice, and toggle the checkbox at the bottom of the page to enable hot tub/pool heating for the guest.

If you have a property management system that offers tagging for reservations (like OwnerRez), then this process can be automated. (You can view more details below about specific settings per property management system.)

In Guest Mode, you can also toggle the option to set check-in offsets. This allows you to set when the device will be turned on to warm up before guest check-in, and/or turn off after your guests arrive.

Alternatively, you can set your pool or hot tub to turn off every morning or evening at specific times.

Note: The 24-hour offset here is shown as an example. Your offsets will vary based on your specific pool or hot tub.

Vacant Mode

Vacant Mode allows you to set up a check-out offset that turns off the pool or hot tub heater before or after guest check-out. This allows you to manage pool and hot tub heating between reservations to conserve energy and save on heating costs.

Once you’ve configured your settings, you’re ready for upcoming reservations!

How to Configure Settings for Multiple Listings

Recognizing that everyone’s portfolio and listing count is different, we created settings specifically in our bulk update feature to configure pool/hot tub heating across multiple devices that are assigned to multiple listings.

From the Devices page, select the Bulk Update button.

Select the Pool/Hot Tub Heater tab. From the drop-down, select all the devices where you want your Guest Mode settings to apply. Be sure to save your settings.

Next, select the Vacant Mode option. Again, you will need to confirm which devices you want the settings to apply to. Be sure to save your settings.

How to Configure Heater Settings for Specific Property Management Systems

We will continue to update this section based on specific settings for property management systems.

If your property management system is not shown here, please feel free to let us know and we can look into automating workflows more closely with your platform of choice.

OwnerRez

If you are an OwnerRez customer, you can add a tag under the “General Info” section for Pool Heat and this will automatically be pulled over to Jervis Systems and we will toggle on the pool heat or hot tub for that guest.

With this workflow, you will not need to toggle on the option for each reservation. The below option will be selected for you.

From there, you’re ready to go!
